Our last theme of the semester was about Chinese Movie. We explored Chinese movies and actors and actresses who made huge impact in the Chinese cinema.

Our first Movie lesson was about Chinese famous movies. We explored the most popular Chinese movies. The two main popular Chinese movies we explored were “The Captain” and “The Wandering Earth”. Students were giving information about the movies and the production of the movies. We had our students share some information about the movie of their liking. Our students had the chance to watch a short clip of the movies and then write a short presentation about the movie and the reason for their choice. Students had so much to share and enjoyed the movie lesson.

During the following Movie lesson, we read about some of the famous Chinese actors and actresses’ biography. We mainly focused on their acting career and how they help promote Chinese movies across the world. Students had the chance to watch some of their most popular movies. They were then asked to write about one of their favorite actor or actresses and the reason as to why they like them in a form of a presentation. The lesson was engaging and fun. I was  impressed by my student interaction, participation and exceptional communication skill.

During this theme season, our school wall was decorated to reflect the theme of the month. The wall was covered with Chinese popular movies as well as with movie props. For our classroom hallway display, students displayed their written presentations as well a picture to reflect their same.    

We always aim to deliver fun, interactive and challenging lesson to our students. We look forward to a new semester filled with exciting topics to ensure our students are both developing new skills and having enjoyable lessons.
