Students at the bilingual department at Shengda have enjoyed exploring the different subtopics in our school’s I love science and I love music theme work topics. Our students should now be able to converse in age-level appropriate English in some of the key subtopics they’ve learnt.

   Some of the subtopics we have studied in I love science include an in-depth review of the solar system and science jobs. In particular, there was an oral exercise to check the speaking and reading skills of each individual student, and we were pleasantly surprised that many quieter students have been learning the topics quite well and were able to do well.

   Students were extremely excited and interested in either reviewing or learning about the solar system. We practiced all forms of literacy skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in our classrooms during this period. We also made posters based on the solar system and space, which will be featured along the hallways in the school soon.

   The other subtopics in the I love music topic we discovered English songs, song genres, and instruments. Some classes have a great level of knowledge in the music topics and some new and interactive activities were included to engage all senses of the students.
