My homelife during the pandemic

作者/来源:Class Seven, Grade Five Lan    发布时间:2022-05-23

Nowadays, the pandemic here in Shanghai has risen again. More and more people get the disease by each day, no one thought that this tide would be so severe. Because of this tide, we have been forced to go back home and have online classes.

Because of having online courses, I have much more spare time to do what I want to. I have three classes a day, sometimes four, one in the afternoon. And I usually do my homework, read books, play and do other things that I want to do in the afternoon.

One day, our community suddenly locked down! I felt very frightened and scared, what if one of the people in our community got COVID-19, I thought. The next day, we were told to go down and do the NAT(nucleic acid test, 核酸检测) so that the property can know if any of our results are positive, which means you’ve got COVID-19. When I went to the tent where you do the test, I saw two healthcare workers, otherwise known as “Big Whites” doing the job of testing us. When it was my turn, I felt both nervous and excited. I just opened my mouth and said:” a…” I only felt a bit sour in my throat and then it was done. I was so amazed that it would be that quick! After four days of doing the NAT, our community was finally unlocked! I felt so happy that I thought I ate the sweetest sweet in the world! Our neighborhood even started to do something they haven’t done for the past four days—playing the piano.

Although the pandemic has come and we can’t go out very often, what we should keep doing is exercising. I usually do push-ups, skip rope and sit-ups. I also walk around my community to get some fresh air into my lungs. Although sometimes I get very tired and want to stop, I continue to finish it, because it is good for my body.

Although the pandemic is very severe nowadays, I believe that in the near future, it will get better a lot and we can go back to school. Maybe, 10 years later, when I recall these days, I’ll definitely miss this special “holiday”.
