We live on a planet, Earth that orbits the star we call the Sun. Seven other planets also travel around the Sun. Today, we made some beautiful models of all eight planets showing their colours and relative sizes, using just rubber bands and paper. To make the planets, we need torches, scissors, some pieces of A4 paper and some rubber bands of different colours. First, the teacher made a model for us. And then she divided us into several groups and gave us what we need to make different planets.
After that, it was our turn to make the rubber band planet. Luckily, I was given the materials of Jupiter which is the largest planet in the solar system. First, I made a big ball with six pieces of paper. Next, I imitated the colourful stripes of Jupiter’s dense atmosphere by using red, yellow and white bands. Finally, I made my own Jupiter. How excited I was!
