Spring is the beginning of a year. The weather is usually warm and rainy in Shanghai. We hardly ever can see the sun. The sky is grey, but there are many flowers blooming, like lilies, daffodils, irises and dandelions. They are very beautiful! Also cherry blossoms bloom. Japanese celebrate it as the “hanami” - a festivity for Cherry blossom.
In China, the Spring Festival is one of the most important festivals. It usually comes in January or February. People also call it the Chinese New Year. People buy new clothes and eat traditional food before the Spring Festival and have a big dinner together. People visit their relatives and friends, and children can get a lot of money in red envelopes, and watch colourful firework at night. In other countries, people celebrate May Day and Easter during spring.
