Hi, everyone! I’m Sophie and I’m from Shanghai, China. In ancient times, Chinese weddings were grand. The bride and the groom wore traditional red clothes and they sat in a bridal sedan chair which was lifted by servants. There were endless firecrackers and feasts. Although Chinese weddings today are not as traditional as before, I still like attending weddings very much!
I remembered going to my aunt’s wedding ceremony when I was four. The wedding was celebrated on the lawn in front of a church in a park. Everyone had a balloon in his hand. When the wedding song started, we handed out them. The bride and the groom walked along the red carpet to the stage. The bride was wearing a beautiful white dress and the groom was wearing a black suit, a pair of black trousers, a white shirt and a tie. I was the lucky flower girl and I went up carefully with the ring in my hand. I gave the ring to the groom and he gave it to my aunt. They made a commitment that their love would last forever. How romantic! I felt so excited and touched that moment!
After the ceremony, we had a big party. There were lots of delicious food and different kinds of performance. We sang and danced together and I was so happy!
I enjoyed the modern wedding ceremony because it was full of love and I hope all the couples in the world will remember their weddings and be good to each other!
