In My Wildest Imagination

Hello everyone, have you ever been to Beijing? I AM so lucky to tell you that I live in Beijing. If you haven’t been there, it is OK. Because starting from Feb 4th, the Winter Olympics is been held in Beijing.

Well, first let me introduce myself, I am Bing Dwen dwen, the cute Mascot for Beijing Winter Olympic Games. Please allow me to be your honored tour guide. I will take you an adventure journey to three of my favorite venues.

First, let’s go to the National Aquatics Center, it also called “ Ice cube”. The “water cube” once held swimming events at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Now it is turned into the “Ice Cube”. People took all of the water out of the pool. Then, they built a steel structure and placed ice on it. The venue will be used for swimming in spring, summer and autumn, and become “Ice Cube” again in winter.

Second, let’s go to the “Wukesong Sports Center”. Do you know how long does it take to turn a basketball court into an ice hockey rink? The answer from Wukesong Sports Center is –

Six hours. With quick ice-making technology, the venue can easily change to suit the two sports. Wa, this is amazing.

Third, now we are at “The Capital Gymnasium”. The venue is 54 years old. To hold the games, it changed a lot. The seats became bigger and bigger and more comfortable. There is also big screen in the ceiling. How cool it is! It makes a fancy effect when athletes compete on ice.

In order to prevent virus from spreading, lots of high tech robots and driverless cars will be used. You see that Beijing Olympic Committee and Beijing people have done tremendous efforts to make it happen. We will spare no effort to present a great Games to the world and all you.

At last, I want to say: welcome to Beijing!
