Because of the outbreak of COVID-19 in Shanghai this early March, all the students have stayed at home for several weeks. We have no choice but to study online. However, it is full of fun.
Every weekday, we have three lessons in the morning and two lessons in the afternoon including Chinese, Maths, English, PE, Science, Music and Art. Before the classes begin we often share our stories at home, the news and important events around us. Sometimes we can listen to the music during the break and chat with classmates and teachers.
In the afternoon, l have a lot of spare time after finishing my homework. During this time, l do some sports, draw a picture or read books. Furthermore, due to the COVID-19 impacts, we have to do the antigen self-testing and nucleic acid testing.
My parents are both working from home these days. Online shopping has become one of my mum’s daily works. Once she got up at midnight to buy food but only got two zucchinis in the end! On the other hand, my mum is a purchasing leader. She often makes phone calls and works on the Excel sheets. My dad is one of the community volunteers. He sometimes wears the protective suit and becomes the so-called “Big White” and delivers the food to neighbors. I'm extremely proud of my parents for their kindness.
I hope that the pandemic in Shanghai will soon disappear and we can go back to our happy and safe life as before. I’m also looking forward to meeting my teachers and classmates at school in the near future!
