Nowadays, Omicron virus spreads through Shanghai with unprecedented speed. So we have to learn in online classes at home instead of going to school.
Talking about online learning, some people may think that it is convenient and relaxing. There aren’t any teachers looking at you. However, I have different thoughts.
First, staring at a screen for a long time is harmful for our eyes. To solve this problem, we can study for 45 minutes and relax for about 15 minutes. We can stand by the window and look out into the distance. Also, we can do some eye exercises and broadcast gymnastics. Doing these things during the break can help us rest and prepare for the next lesson.
Second, since we learn at home, we have more time to do our favorite activities and practice our hobbies. For example, I have classes in the morning. In the afternoon, I can play the piano, read books, do handworks and whatever I like.
Third, it’s spring now. We can grow some plants at home and observe the growth of plants. At the same time, we can keep a record of how plants change each day.
Besides online learning, I also have something to say about the coronavirus pandemic. To begin with, I really respect doctors, nurses and volunteers who work all day and all night. They are brave and hardworking, donating their time to help other people and giving up time with their families. They are truly called ‘Angels in white’.
In addition, we need to protect ourselves from the virus and prevent being infected. We have to do the following things. Don’t go out if it’s not necessary. If we can abide this principle, it’s the biggest help for controlling the pandemic and lessening the burden for medical workers. If you really have to go out, I suggest that please avoid going to public places and always wear a mask. You can change a new mask every four hours. As soon as you reach home, wash your hands and clear away the viruses. We have to listen to the orders of the medical workers and coordinate with them.
Recently, I took part in the Shanghai Students Art Troupe’s online performing activity and sang a piece of Peking Opera. Its theme was about ‘Angels in white’ taking on the burden of fighting Covid-19 pandemic. I hope it can encourage people in the pandemic and express my heart that we can defeat the pandemic if we try our best.
In brief, I truly look forward to the time when the pandemic can be controlled and we can see each other at school!
