My favourite Festival is the Chinese New Year, which is also known as “the Spring Festival”. The Chinese New year to us is what Christmas is to the western countries. In China, it’s the highlight of a whole year.
The Spring Festival is from the first day of the first lunar month to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, which is the Lantern Festival. The Chinese New Year is usually in January or February. Although it’s often cold outside,it’s always full of warmness and happiness indoor.
On New Year’s Eve, everyone return home to for a family reunion and have a big feast. We have many lucky food and traditional dishes. We watch the Spring Festival Gala and stay up until midnight. The next day, we put on our new cloth and visit our relatives. We exchange gifts and good wishes for the coming year.
The Spring Festival is especially fun for the kids. We get red envelopes and set off fireworks. We are grateful of our family and are looking forward to the better life in the next year.
