This summer, I had a great trip to Chongqing with my mom and sister. The ‘Mountain City’ impressed us right away with its hilly streets and rivers running through the city.
Visiting Hongyadong at night was the highlight. When the lights turned on, the stilt houses with red lanterns looked like a fairy-tale castle, and their reflections on the Jialing River was beautiful. My sister and I took many photos, while mom smiled and helped us tidy up, saying she'd save the view.
The local food was great too. We tried hot pot at a popular spot —the boiling butter pot smelled amazing, and tender beef with crispy duck intestines tasted delicious. Our morning Chongqing noodles, chewy with chili oil and minced meat, were also appetizing.
This trip gave me warm memories with my family, and I'm already looking forward to our next adventure!
