Last year, we went to a huge fire station for an autumn outing and it was great fun.

   First, we had a fire drill at the ‘underground station’. It was dark and smoky. I was very afraid and grabbed my backpack hardly, but the brave firefighter was not afraid at all. They told us to hold the shoulder of the student in front of us. They helped us to escape from the ‘underground station’ quickly.

   Then, the firefighter showed us how to put on their uniform. We tried it. It was quite heavy and uncomfortable, but it was very useful to the firefighter.

   At last, we learned how to use the fire hose to put out the fire. We had a competition in groups and my group won.

   The firefighters are brave. They protect us and save people’s lives. In my eyes, they are heroes. It’s really a great job. I like them.
